South Brent
South Brent
South Brent is our nearest town, appriximately 2.5 miles away from Didworthy. It lies south of the steep hill, Brent Hill, from where it gets its name.
Now bypassed by the A38, and with the mainline railway between Exeter and Plymouth lying in a cutting to the North of the village center, it makes a nice quite village.
In the center are a number of shops, A co-op, butcher, newsagent, Fish and Chip shop and a number of pubs to name a few.

Brent Station
The railway once had a station at South Brent, with a branch line making its way down to Kingsbridge. Unfortunately the branchline closed in 1963, and the station soon after that. The signal box seen in the photo still stands, and the goods shed is now a Dentist Surgury.
